Disciplined physics
Full-AC Newton-Raphson with strict Q-limit enforcement. A converged solution that violates Q limits is marked infeasible. No shortcuts.
Raptrix began in 2013 as Kestrel when founder Matthew Musto, a power-systems engineer with over two decades of grid operations experience, set out to solve contingency analysis the right way — full Newton-Raphson physics with no shortcuts. He spent those years inside the control room as Principal Engineer at NYISO until April 3, 2026, when he left to build Raptrix full-time — one of the most operationally complex and consequential independent system operators in the country.
The name evolved to Raptrix — a bird of prey that dominates sparse matrix math. Today he leads a growing team of engineers and industry leaders building the platform he wished he’d had on shift.
Today Raptrix Suite delivers the only modern platform that combines a high-performance C++ solver with intelligent real-time contingency analysis (Sentinel) and short-term planning tools (Forge) — all built on the same planning-grade physics engine, all carried by the same open .rpf interchange format.
This is not a software company that discovered a grid problem. It is a practitioner who understood the problem from the inside.
Full-AC Newton-Raphson with strict Q-limit enforcement. A converged solution that violates Q limits is marked infeasible. No shortcuts.
Contingency selection and screening augment operator judgment — they never replace it.
Sentinel for real-time operations, Forge for short-term planning, all on the same engine and the same .rpf interchange.
On-prem (RHEL certified), air-gapped, or cloud. Deterministic builds. Reproducible pipelines. No vendor lock-in.
Deliver the industry’s first integrated platform that brings planning-grade physics into real-time grid operations and short-term planning — so operators and planners finally work from the same high-fidelity model of the true grid.

Bring a recent State Estimator export. We will run an exhaustive N-1 + intelligent N-2 with recovery validation and walk through the results with your team — no slide-deck theater.
